Williams Grove Speedway’s Saturday Night Series returns to action this week. The third event in the 16-race series will occur on the famed clay half-mile oval. Blazer’s Body Super Sportsman, Credit Connection Auto Sales 358 Late Models and Aquafun Pools Street Stocks will be in action.
Scott Geesey, from Newville, has ownership of the Saturday Night Series Super Sportsman victory lane. Geesey turned in dominating performances to win the first two shows. Paul Miller has a Williams Grove Super Sportsman victory, that coming during a Friday night race. The Super Sportsman are averaging 26 cars through the first two events.
Competition is wide open in the 358 Late Models, the only class that does not have a repeat winner. Newville’s Wes Alleman won on opening night. One week later Dan Zechman from Hanover triumphed for the second victory of his career. Les Hare has a Friday night feature win. The 358 Late Models average 24 entries after two shows.
Mechanicsburg’s Jeff Haag, the defending Street Stock point champion, has two Street Stock victories. Both wins were by slim margins. The Street Stocks are averaging 26 competitors.
This Saturday will be the Super Sportsman Bill Heckert Memorial championship. The event is in memory of Bill Heckert, a popular Super Sportsman driver.
Williams Grove Speedway management continues to offer family racing at family prices. The Super Sportsman championship, plus 358 Late Models and Street Stocks will cost an adult price of six dollars with children 12 and under free. The first qualifying race begins at 7 PM.
