Huge Influx Of Funds Drops Into Williams Grove 358 Sprint Match Race
August 5 total purse for 358s now worth over $20,000!
Mechanicsburg – The 358 Sprint Match Race purse scheduled for August 5 at Williams Grove Speedway has gotten a huge influx of funds to the tune of some $12,500, thanks to donating sponsors!
As per race rules, Williams Grove Speedway is matching up to $5,000 of the donated $7,500, creating a combined total minimum dump into the purse of $12,500 to date!
The news from released at the oval on Friday night.
This means, all the 358 sprint drivers in attendance for the August 5 event will have a minimum $20,500 purse up for grabs!
Thanks to the efforts of Bill Devine from Dirty Deeds in Honey Brook, a family of donating sponsors will be contributing to the special event.
Firms depositing include: Dirty Deeds, Honey Brook; Chad Baker Drain Cleaning, Plumbing & HVAC, Enola; Ephrata Recycling, Ephrata; Beartown Recycling, Narvon; Roberson Truck Parts, Honey Brook; The Mennonite Mafia family and the Devine Motorsports No. 70 D pit crew.
The 358 Sprint Match Race for the HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprints is a new and exciting event at Williams Grove in 2022.
The Match Race is a special event for the limited sprint cars that posts not only a standard Williams Grove 358 sprint purse but it also offers the opportunity for the 358 field to race for thousands and thousands more in purse money.
All increases beyond the standard purse are thanks to donations and “Match Funds" put into the pot by any sponsors, fans AND the track.
Williams Grove Speedway announced from the beginning that it would match up to $5,000 in additional purse money as donated to the field by all who care to pitch in.
Dirty Deeds’ Devine says when he read about the race in a local racing paper, he was enticed to get involved.
“I thought, ‘if they are gonna’ match $5,000, I’ll try to make that happen,’†Devine says.
“I thought it’d be cool if the guy that finishes 24th would have enough money to pay for gas home and a new tire. So I went to my customers and we were able to put it together.â€
Dirty Deeds is a big truck service and repair center that includes a specialized fabrication department.
And now even with this announcement of a total combined 12.5K boost into the August 5 purse, more donations of any size and amount are still welcome!
Fans, businesses, competitors, product manufacturers and even drivers are all invited to donate to the purse.
All donated and matching funds will be divvied up EVENLY to all 24 cars in the feature field.
All donations must be received in the Williams Grove Speedway business office by the end of the day on July 22, 2022.
Donations for the Match Race will be accepted via credit card, money order or personal check.
