Wolfe Tribute Race Has All Stars, Pre-Race Broadcast, Pictorial/Car Display And $75 To Win Heats, B And A Friday At Williams Grove Speedway
2022 Hoosier Diamond Series Continues May 27
Mechanicsburg – Williams Grove Speedway will honor veteran sprint car ace Randy Wolfe coming up on Friday, May 27 when the All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprints compete with the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars in the Randy Wolfe Tribute Race paying $10,000 to the winner.
The special event is Sprints Only, one division-racing program to help kickoff the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Pre-race action in the infield will get underway at 5:45 featuring honoree Wolfe along with a number of his career car owners, spanning 1976 through 1999.
Interviews and a meet and greet will be conducted as part of a live Facebook broadcast on BeerHill Gang TV.
Lucas Wolfe will help honor his father Randy by having his familiar No. 5W machine on display until approximately 6:15 pm.
A pictorial display of Wolfe’s career is also slated to be presented.
Wolfe’s career is perhaps best remembered for his time spent at the wheel of the Keen Motorsports No. 5W in the 1980s.
Keen namesake Shawn Keen will attend the pre-race honors along with others such as owners Jim and Laura Allebach No. 75, Gene Jenkins No. 55, brothers Rick and Joe Woelfling No. 5W and Ken Cooper No. 25.
The All Stars will battle the Pennsylvania Posse in the 30-lap Wolfe Tribute Race as part of the 2022 Hoosier Diamond Series with action getting underway at 7:30 pm.
The driver who sets quick time on the night will collect the $300 Fast Tees Fast Time Award.
In honor of Randy Wolfe’s final ride in the Allebach No. 75, ownerd Jim and Laura Allebach will pay $75 to win the heats, b main and the feature as part of the event.
Brent Marks kicked off the 2022 Diamond Series in April by winning the All Stars Tommy Classic.
Gates will open on Friday at 5:30.
Fireworks will be part of the program.
Adult general admission is set at $25 with youth ages 13-20 admitted for just $10 while kids ages 12 and under are always admitted for FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.
