Williams Grove Speedway Will Open Season Friday Night

Sprints and Late Models set to launch into 2022

Mechanicsburg – The rescheduled Williams Grove Speedway season opener presented by Hoosier is coming up this Friday night, March 18 at 7:30 pm with a twin bill racing program of Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints and the ULMS Super Late Models.

Gates will open at 5:30 pm.

Adult general admission for the first show of the season is set at $20 with youth ages 13-20 admitted for just $10 while kids ages 12 and under are always admitted for FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.

The sprint cars will race for a $5,500 payday in a 25-lap main event while the super late models compete in a 30-lap main worth $3,500 to the winner and $350 just to start the main.

The event will also serve as the season lidlifter for the 26-date, 2022 ULMS Super Late Models Series schedule.

Stock car stars expected include former series champion Jared Miley of Pittsburgh along with Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, Colton Flinner of Allison Park, Kyle Lee of Mercersburg, Rick Eckert of York, Mason Zeigler of Chalk Hill and many more.

The super late model show will be the first of two at the track in March with another race coming up on Friday, March 25.

In total only three late model shows dot the 2022 Williams Grove schedule with the final show being held as a World of Outlaws event in August.

Last year at the track late model wins went to ULMS champion Max Blair, Gene Knaub and Satterlee.

Gary Stuhler is the leading active driver on the all-time Williams Grove super late model win list with 22 victories and he is expected to compete in the 2022 Williams Grove late model events.

The first race of the year coming under the lights will launch the sprint cars into their new year as well at the Grove.

A great field of sprinters should be on hand featuring defending track champion Lance Dewease along with other previous opening day winners Danny Dietrich, Freddie Rahmer and Lucas Wolfe.

Dillsburg’s Anthony Macri will be gunning for his first opening day win at the track.

And Washington teenage transplant Devon Borden will be embarking on his first full season of racing at Williams Grove with the advent of the first green flag on Friday night.

The US Army Recruiting Center of Carlisle will be on hand prior to action with a display of games and activities in the infield.
