Two Big Shows To Close August At Williams Grove Speedway
Mechanicsburg - After a week with no racing on August 13, Williams Grove Speedway will return to action with big shows to close out the month.
Coming up on Friday, August 20 will be the World of Outlaws Late Models along with a full program for the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars.
The World of Outlaws Late Models will be vying at the track for just the fourth time in history on Leffler Energy Night.
Previous winners with the World of Outlaws Late Models at the track have been Larry Phillips in 1988 and Brandon Sheppard each of the last two seasons.
The World of Outlaws Super Late Models will race in a 40-lap, $10,000 to win main event while the sprint cars run for $5,500 to win on August 20.
And then one week later, on Friday, August 27 the All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprints return to Williams Grove for the Union Quarries Jack Gunn Memorial Twin 20s presented by VP Racing Fuels.
Each of the twins will pay $4,000 to win and $400 to start in what will be a sprint car only program.
The fast qualifier will receive $300 as the Fast Tees Fast Time Award winner.
An exhibition by restored racecars from the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing is also on the August 27 agenda.
The Jack Gunn Memorial will also be another race in the 2021 Diamond Series at the oval in which Lance Dewease owns a 210-point lead.
As the season wanes, Fayetteville’s Dewease owns a 675-point lead in the chase to be the overall Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint track titlist.
Freddie Rahmer is his closest pursuer in both sets of point standings.
Just seven shows remain on the 2021 Williams Grove schedule for the 410 sprint cars.
Adult general admission for August 20 is $30 with youth ages 13 – 20 admitted for $10.
August 27 will offer $25 adult general admission with youth priced at $10.
Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted for FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.
