Williams Grove Loses Month Of April With Friday Rains, Candy Giveaway Rescheduled For May 3
ASCS/URC Battle Of The Groves On Deck
As a result of afternoon rains that would not relent coupled with a tornado watch, Williams Grove Speedway has again been forced to cancel its Friday night racing program slated for April 26.
Track management was hopeful that the rains would pass in time to still allow for action on Friday night and made a great effort to keep the surface “raceable†but the amount of rain reached an intolerable level shortly after 4:30 pm.
The April 26 rain out means the track has now lost the entire moth of April to weather.
With hopes that May will bring more favorable conditions for racing, the oval expects to be in action next Friday night, May 3 when it hosts the ASCS/URC Battle At The Groves for 360 sprints, along with the 410 sprints, at 8 pm.
National stars on the 360 circuit will compete in the event, slated to be carried on MAV TV.
Originally slated for Easter weekend, May 3 will again find the oval hosting the Hoseheads Hoppers Giveaway At The Gate for kids.
Thanks to sprint car website Hoseheads.com, the first 200 kids ages 12 and under entering the speedway through the main grandstand admission gate will receive a FREE chocolate Easter bunny next week.
To help celebrate the belated Easter holiday, the Hoseheads.com giveaway will begin when gates open at 6 pm however from 6:30 to 7, sprint car drivers Ryan Smith and Cory Haas will be on hand to help hand out the chocolate while also meeting fans
